Default Hi all!

Hi everyone!
I'm obviously a newbie to the forum A quick bit about me: Year 10 at school, absolutely love mechanics and working with engines, and I am currently restoring a Ford Telstar TX5 (Mazda 626) that had a blown head gasket and was sitting for 2 years. I basically wanted to join the forum because I'm in the stages where I'm learning a lot about mechanics, and need help with a few problems that I have encountered during this project of mine. I also joined it because I find it interesting learning about what other people do to their cars, and watching them progress along the way. I am currently on a motorbike forum also, and it seems as though I am not wanted there, people are rude to me, and I need another community to belong in where I am more accepted
I will be posting my project/problems elsewhere... (one quick question, which topic would I post it in?)
Thanks all!

Welcome to the forums! Your best bet if your car shares the same platform as the 626 is the 323, 626, 929 forum, only thing that might be difficult for us would be your different engines. Also it wouldnt hurt to throw your car with the important details into your signature, saves questions later about it

These are the engines that have been used over the years for the 626, some are Europe only, some are North America only and some were the base engine in one area but the upgrade in another:

2.0 F/MA 1979-1982 (including Australian 626), 1.6 F6 1983-1987, 2.0 F/MA 1979-1982, 2.0 FE 1983-1990, 2.0 FET 1986-1987, 2.0 RF (Diesel) 1984-1987, 2.2 F2 1988-1992, 2.2 F2T 1988-1992, 2.0 FE-DOHC 1987-1992, 1.8 F 1993-1997, 2.0 FS 1993-2002, 2.0 RF-T TD 1998-2002, 1.8 FP 1997-2002, 2.5 V6 KL 1993-2002. So the displacements run from 1.6L-2.5L in the 626 with various versions of engines, now you can pick and choose what matched your year car. There was a unique drive-train only avail in the Asia-Pacific region and nowhere else but I don't know what that was.

WOW! Thanks for all the info! The one that looks like mine is the 2.0 FS 1993-2002 engine. After having a quick on wiki, it says "The 626 was also sold as the Ford Telstar in Asia, Australasia and Southern Africa, but was later replaced by the European-sourced Ford Mondeo." Ahh well, not like it really effects my life anyway
