I have just brought a second hand 2.2 Mazda cx-5 drove for 7 weeks no problem then randomly I got a warning that coolant temp was too high, I crawled home approx 2/3 miles doing less than 20 miles an hour as I live in the middle of nowhere and even with breakdown cover its a nightmare. Now I'm fighting with the finance company that they sold me a car not fit for purpose but from what I have been reading it looks pretty grim. could the car have been overheating for 7 weeks and not shown up ?
