Default 1993 Mazda 626 overheat & excessive exhaust

I own a 93 Mazda 626 LX w/ about 150K on it. Car has been overheating for a while while driving at random times. Needle goes down when I accelerate most of the time. Put antifreeze in even though it isn't cold in TX, and runs good for a couple of days. Now on top of random overheat I have excessive exhaust.. Replaced catalytic converter last Feb, so wondering what problem could be. Also, when I let off gas, it doesn't just slow down, but seems to coast a little(not sure right words to use here). Also, sometimes have poor acceleration just after startup. Any comments would help. Don't think any leaks are there as no liquid is ever under my car. Maybe oxygen sensor or something similar. Apparently I am not a mechanic, just want to check here first as I do not have money to fix yet, but inspection is coming in 2 months. Thanks.
