A rethink? Seriously? I think you've been drinking too much CAI-Kool Aid. The fact is that the standard air box already feeds from the cold air zone (once the engine is warmed up); drilling holes will actually allow more warm air to enter the system than the factory setup.

It seems you don't subscribe to your own message (as intimated by your user id).

Stick to your stock set-up then. the resonator is normally located in the cold zone! Wake Up! Drink some more coffee!
Drill holes on the bottom of the resonator, not the main part!
