Hi there! On Tuesday May 10, 2016 I leased a brand new Soul Red 2016 Mazda3 Hatchbach Touring edition with the six speed automatic. This is my first Mazda and I am very pleased with it. I've had or driven regularly Hondas, Subarus, VW's, Fords, Nissans, and GM stuff previously (and a Peugeot).

Which version did you get of the 5-Door?

I got the Touring version. For $10/month over the Sport I couldn't ignore all the added features the Touring comes with.

Ahhh, good choice; back in 2008 when I bought my first Mazda3 I was given the following three options (all cars had a 5-Speed manual):

1. 2009 Mazda3 i Sport for something like $14,000.
2. 2009 Mazda3 i Touring Value Edition for something like $15,700.
3. 2008 Mazda3 s Sport also for something like $15,700.

I opted for the extra goodies and better fuel economy of the 2009 i TVE.
