Best way to change ATF
Hi. Just joined. Picking up a 2013 CX-5 tomorrow with 91000 miles from a dealer. Never bought from a dealer in 50 years but my daughter was getting impatient and I could not fine a nice one I felt comfortable with so I bought from a dealer. 1 owner and body and interior is in great shape and drove ok. Clean Carfax but shows no spark plugs replace or transmission service. First thing replace plugs. Next, transmission service but this is where my head is swimming. After much browsing I am not sure which way to go. Drain and fill, drop pan and new filter? Consensus says Mazda FZ only. Thought maybe someone on this site can steer me in the best direction. TIA
This is not a democracy nor is it a crowd consensus…..at least in my world of practical application and servicing …..
at the miles u indicated your new to you * Mazda over due for a pan and filter service.
And NO you do not need Mazda ATF. Castro is as good and if you look at the USA required specification and performance required it may be better. However I use Castro in my Mazda and in most all customers Transmissions.
* If you look just today I posted a little more information on another new members thread on the subject
