The problem is my cars transmission light isn’t engaging (I’ll try to grease up the cable that is underneath the car), it is engaging, car doesn’t budge, but the sound is rather worrying, everytime there’s this specific motor-like sound ZZZZZZZZ underneath the vehicle, it doesn’t happen with other gears. Also I’ve photographed some of my fluids after letting the car stand for the night. Oil had been changed half a year ago, but it seems rather low to me. The engine heats up really fast, probably doesn’t even take 5 minutes of idle and up to 3.5k driving for it to be right in the middle, doesn’t overheat, but is too worrying. Also my transmission dipstick after the night of standing showed almost a full 65 celsius mark “fillage” even though the car was cold. Car shakes really bad, might be the mounts, and you mostly feel it while idling, the door mounts don’t have any vibration to them, the hood has some. The car jerks when in 1st and 2nd. Also there is smoke out of the exhaust (might be condensation) sometimes after driving, even though the car is already warm. Now that I told you my worries, here is the backstory.
Bought it new in 2007, has 250k km on the clock. A year and a half ago, person driving the car called me up and said that it went into limp mode, car doesn’t want to drive, no power, transmission is shifting bad. So I left it standing as it is. A year later I took it to inspect that the radiators ATF cooling coupling had been busted fresh out of its thread. After more inspection, we found that the expansion tank was full of milky oil. To our knowledge most of the lines connected to the radiator were dirty of the same milky oil. After unplugging all of the engines oil exit holes, we got an answer that the oil seemed relatively okay, it was black, there were no metal shavings found in the fluid nor any milk substance, texture. So we continued and finished the oil change, then we went to the transmission. After dropping the pan we found it being full of milky oil, although none metal shavings, we thorougly cleaned it, replaced the gasket, filter. Filled it with new transmission fluid, drove it around for a bit, then drained it the 2nd time, filled it one more time and it has driven the 20 kilometeres since then on that fluid. The radiator had been flushed couple of times with water, heater fully on, the maximum, car driving and so on. Then filled with antifreeze. This might help, might not.
P.S. There is bunch of residue or oil (not sure) on the engines plastic (shown in photo), car absolutely stinks of oil through every single imagineable hole in the car, and I think through the A.C. too. Also how many fans should be running on the radiator? One turns on sometimes when it feels like helping the A.C.
Thank you whoever is going to read this and best of luck. I reckon the cable shouldn’t be twisted like that, also the plastic thing next to it looks like its leaking, and it has been the same dirty, fluidy since 6 months.
