Was it down beside the air filter housing?

Looks like the solenoid for the air filter cold air flap.

If you remove it you run the risk of the engine warning light coming on.

If you remove the factory air box you must keep it plumbed in, and where it normally plugs into the airflap block this tube off with a M6 bolt.

Ya it was beside the intake, when I bought the car it came with a CAI and that part was tucked into the fender...any idea how to fix

You should never have 2 threads with the same question.
Even though they are in different segments, they are actually both in the "New Posts" section which is the one we always click on. We never search by Mazda 3, mazda 5, mazda 6, mazda 7, newbie, general tech, etc.
We click on "New Posts" which displays all new posts within the last time we logged on!
