Revving out for no reason!
Hello all, new to the forum and need your expertise. I have a 2010 Mazda 6 and twice now the engine has started revving for no apparent reason. My foot was not accidentally pressing the gas, nor was the pedal stuck because happened the one time in a drive through when I wasn't really moving. It revved so high that it scared me and I shut the engine off worried that something bad was going to happen. Before I take it to the dealership to get raped, I was hoping maybe someone could shed some light on this issue. I've searched the search box, and used the google machine. Also I checked the stickies. Please help a guy out!

Thanks for reading the stickies. Please read the "New Member" section as well.
I think there is something wrong with the IAC (idle air control). You could disconnect and reconnect the various harnesses at the throttle body. Maybe it is just a bad contact.
