Welcome to the forum

You should refer to your owners manual but the universal answer 5w-30
The type can be full or semi-synthetic oil
As for the quantity5.5 quarts (5.2 liters) with oil filter change . Again, you should refer to your exact owner's manual because of the country to live in. Or contact Mazda service department in your area.

The diesel engine has interesting recommendation from service mechanics and owners so for these engines it is better to go to Mazda service or parts department for the best information and recommendations.

Thank you for the advice - I don't know why I didn't think of the owner's handbook! Turns out for my specific car it is 5w30 (as you said), but it is 4.1L / 4.3 US quarts - the larger amount is for the "L5" engine (not sure which one that is) according to the book.

Make sure the 5w30 you purchase is C1.

The diesel takes 5.2ltrs of oil. ( Petrol model takes 2.3/4.3 ltrs)

Follow your handbook and if in doubt contact your preferred oil manufacturer. I assume your car has a DPF which requires low ash oil. A buildup of ash is difficult to remove and will end up blocking the DPF.
