Default Radar Detector

Where is a good place to hide a radar detector in a M6s and still have it work properly?

If you dont have nav, you could put it inthe pocket on the top/center of the dash. using a little hydrolic lift to keep it open. It would need to be one with a front and rear sensor (ie you run a wire with sensor to each bumper) because it would be in a cave, but it would be pretty nice. You could even mount a switch to open/shut the little hatch to be discreet. Only advocating this in a state where it is legal to have one.

Right now my state (Florida) is looking to ban them

Heck might as well through a Phazer II radar jammer in as well...there's room!

What about on the lower left side of your windshield, behind your registration and inspection stickers (if that is where you keep them)? May I ask why you want to hide it?

Radar detectors are illegal in VA, and I have a lead foot and I am really getting tired of tickets. I am sure I have spent $5000 in lawyers and fines in the last year. Also in VA the stickers are kept in the bottom center of the windshield.

Oh alright, I just wasn't sure what state you were from. What about hard wiring it and then clipping it to your visor, and if you ever get pulled over, take it off and throw it in the glove box or something?

HERES WHAT TO DO (my dad did it in his accord)

mounting- place it directly above the rearview mirror preferably to the right of the mount. use the suction cups provided, and put it as far UP as possible.

power- hardwire it. aka cut the provided cord and fuse it together with the power source from the passenger side courtesy light. (ull need to remove the light unit to access power). this ensures no wire will be visible at all. and most officers wont duck his head and peek over there.

good luck

Now that sounds good, I just hope it will work with the detector I am buying, a BEL Sti Driver. And I still have to find someone outside the state that I can trust to have it shipped to, since no companies will ship a detector to VA.
