Thanks to this Mazda forum for allowing me this post.

I am an automotive retoucher/CGI artist and Mazda subject matter is among the brands I work.
Here is where I need some help/expertise -
Currently I am working a couple of subjects regarding the model year 2016 M6 (all trims). There has been some confusion regarding the exact details of the 2016 grille (the area to include the lower fog lights/bumper as well).

Seems from some sources that I have dealt with that there are a couple different grille variations to this model year - depending on trim level the grille has two different versions:
1) 2014/15 - the actual shape - the horizontal lines "teeth" and with what appears to be a wider 'eyelid' shaped part at the level of the M emblem

2) and one without this 'eyelid' shape (simply horizontal lines throughout).

I was informed that both versions of this grille are 2016 product correct...

Is this indeed true?

I want to be certain that the vehicles I am working are indeed accurate.

Actually Mazda is a awesome car no doubt. So anything change, redesign adding extra feature will be fantastic.

 

The 2016 sport and touring model are similar to the 2015 model, but the 2016 grand touring headlights and bumper are completely different to allow for the LED light show.
