Default Navi System in an 04'

ok here's my dilemma people. i have a 04' 6s and i've noticed that for the 2006 models they have a navi system option. u probably already know what im goin to ask..................being that the dashes are close to identical, wouldnt the navi systems for the 06' models fit in the other models as well..........reason being i haven come across a specific system for the 04' model. i would really like to put navi in my 04' 6.........i called mazda and they said the dashes are the same but the wiring harness is different, how different could it be? if it just requires splicing, it would be easy. i in electronics and car systems anyway. anyone have any insight on this?

I'm not sure what is different about the harnesses. I do know that the Euro spec 6 had the Navi option in 04.

It should be simple for you to splice into the radio power supply wire to get the juice to run the nav system. Let's hope that the fuse can handle the task. Your problem will probably be where to mount the sensor, if not buildt-in, that picks up the satellite signals. Good luck.
