Default Moving DRL's

I have an 04 Mazda 6 GT and live in canada. I recently installed an HID kit to the low beams. With the DRL's being on, they flash. I was wondering if anyone knows an easy way to make the high beams the DRL instead of the low beam. I looked at the wiring schematic but nothing jumped out at me. I figured someone might have done this in the past and knows a fast and easy way of doing it.
Thanks in advance.

Default RE: Moving DRL's

I have heard of this problem before w/HIDs and Canada. I know that the HIDs require full voltage in order to perform correctly and DRLs usually cut the voltage to reduce light output, and... well, you know the consequenses already.
The question is would they still be legal if they were moved to the high beams? Or is there a way to have the HIDs perform both functions, low beams and DRLs?
This sounds like a job for our resident electronics expert.
Mr. Spots!!?? Paging Mr. icspots.....?

Default RE: Moving DRL's

I know there's a mod you can do and a harness you can buy that basically gives the HID's full power. I guess once the signal is seen, the kit then gets it's power directly from the battery bypassing the DRL module. I've thought about doing this. But I figured if I moved it to the high beams, it would make the bulbs "last" that much longer. I've noticed a few of the newer Mazda 6's with the DRL as the high beam. Or I'm assuming its the high beam because its the one closest to the grill. Is this correct or have they done a mod to get this?
Also I'm assuming if I took it to some garage to get it inspected, I'm sure they wouldn't know which bulb was suppsed to be the DRL or not. I guess I'm hopeing.

Any info on the mod or anything is appreciated.
Thanks again
