Default Mazdaspeed 6 274 hp/93 octane

Ever notice how there are no ads for this car other than the one's Mazda advertised early in 2006 and pulled just as quick. Well I do understand now why they pulled them.......when I first bought my car, the salesguy was gushing of how fast and how much horsepower this car had. What they didnt tell people was that you had to use 93 octane to achieve this horsepower and if you live in the Western U.S, there are no service stations that carry 93 octane (my brother works for the big oil companys..he would know) so you never really get the advertised H.P. (oh by the way if you use an octane booster you void your warranty....my car is on buyback, it hestiates at normal acceleration BADLY!! but the service guy had the nerve to tell me that I should have been using 93 octane, my response ....why is Mazda selling a car in California that requires 93 octane when they dont sell 93 octane in this state) So if you use 91 octane your losing about 20 horsepower or more (ever wonder why the Mazdaspeed3 with the same engine and configured the same is only rated at 263 h.p with 93 octane?) If all of you are up on cars, Mazda had to buy back quite a few Miata's for the overstated H.P ............class action lawsuit in order hmmm?

Default RE: Mazdaspeed 6 274 hp/93 octane

every commercial and add i've seen has stated "when using 93 octane" somewhere in it. i've seen the window sticker at the local ones that has stated the same thing? that's buyers fault if it was over looked. are you in cali and the dealer told you to run 93, as that would be quite dumb. but if someone was elsewhere in the country using less than 93 just to save a buck, then it would make a bit more sense.

i'd have to say that 90% of the speed owners i've listened to have had no issues since the latest reflash which takes care of the powerloss issue that came with an overly sensitive knock sensor.

overall, i'd say sorry if you don't like the car, it's a great one....but if you are blaming it on cause you didn't do your research befor buying.....that's just dumb.
