MAZDA 6 (2005) ENGINE CUTS OUT
Hi,
I'm really getting fed up with this Mazda 6 of mine. For some unknown reason, while driving, the immobiliser key warning light flashes and then the engine warning light flashes, resulting in the engine cutting (complete power loss). This problem occurs intermittently and the two mazda dealerships I've gone to about the problem, are completely clueless. I left my car for 14 days at the one dealership and basically, they kept moaning that they needed an error code before they could fix it. I think Mazda employs buffoons for technicians in Rochdale (England) as all they did was change the ignition - which didn't solve anything [:'(]! Can anyone shed some light on this problem?
Cheers

im glad the mazda dealer at least payed a little of some attention to key system ... im under the impression thatyou may need a new chip withing the key, ... your key has a chip under the mazda symbol itself, and it maybe fualty or coded wrong bythe dealer,
possible solution
1)have the dealercut you anew key & give you a new alarm control, both with a new code, .... and just discard your two oldkeys...
2) The master ignition cylinder is not properly picking up the singal from the key
i think that may do the trick

I've had the keys recoded twice and I've also been handed a new set of keys due to the ignition being replaced, but no joy. I have noticed that when it's wet the problem occurs more often. I suspect that somewhere in the immobiliser wiring there could be partial exposurecausingearthing, but I'm not a vehicle technician??I do hear a clicking sound going 'on' and 'off' on the left side of the dashboard when it's wet outside, but Mazda say they've been in there like a ferret and found nothing suspicious.Maybe the British Army would like to acquire it for weapons testing
