hey KarizOrz: you can actually reprogram your keyless entry system yourself. its alittle awkward, but it works none-the-less.

here is a link to mazda3forums where you can learn how.

before you go reprogramming your system, just try replacing the battery. if that doesnt work take the car to mazda and let them fix it. it will be covered under warranty no matter what so why waste your time. good luck and let us know what happens

One of the first things I did when it quit working was to replace the battery, that didn't fix it. I just now took a look at that link you posted, and even though my car does all the locking and unlocking of the doors, it still doesn't fix it.

Are there any other options? Or do I just need to take it to a dealership? Bad thing about that is I'm a good hour from a Mazda dealership. I don't have the original warranty, I guess mine ran out at 25,000 as well. I'm at 35,900 now, and the warranty from the dealership I got it from runs out at 36,000, and they're even farther away than an hour.

This is extremely stressful.

i was almost gonna write up the same thread as u.
cus the other night my car refused to unlock with the fob.

after 20 mins i realized. my friends left the rear door ajar. [:@]
the 6's locking is linked so that if any door, trunk, or hood is opened. it wont lock.

Sorry for the slow reply.

I ended up taking it to a Mazda dealership in Wichita Falls, where I have family and the problem was with the fob, they replaced it for free (apparently I'm under warranty until 50,000). I also had the check engine light come on, they fixed that as well, apparently the '04 6 had some sort of recall.

Mazda warranties are 4 year 50,000 miles standard.
