key problems
Hey, I am the owner of a 2006 Mazda 6. Unfortunately I just lost the only set of my chipped car key. I called and went in to my local Mazda dealership and gave him the VIN number off my car so he could get me another key. But the part's manager told me that for some reason he couldnt locate whatever he needs to make another key from my VIN. Does anybody have any suggestions on what I could do? The manager didnt tell me anything only that he cant find anything off my VIN. Thanks.
I'm assuming the car is locked?
Call a locksmith, get them to break into the car, remove the drivers door barrel, they can trace the tumblers ( internals of the lock barrel) and cut a genuine Mazda key blank that will fit the locks & ignition. You will need two keys cut.
Some locksmiths maybe able to program your new keys, otherwise the car will need to be towed to your local Mazda dealer for programming.
