Immobilizer Issues
Now I know this topic has been done to death all over the internet but its now happened to me and I have never really heard a clear cut proven answer on this. Now in my case, I have a 2007 Mazda 6 s Grand Touring. The other day my wife had the car and went out to start the car and didnt start. It was similar to most situations I have read before where when trying to turn it over you just here the starter clicking rapidly of course and the gauges went crazy when turning the key back to its regular position. The stereo lights werent on, the headlights werent on and the windows would not roll up.
After spending the last day trying to find a way around taking it to near Mazda dealer (100 miles roughly) I've come up with nothing other than to try and charge the battery some since the guages went haywire (typical of low voltage). Now I didn't charge it 100 percent last night but I did get the windows rolled up all lights would work...only thing that didnt work was starting it. Still had the little immobilizer indicator showing up and the starter was still just clicking. I'm assuming I am just stuck with having to have the dealer reset this thing? Like I said trying to avoid it on principal because my tow bill will probably cost more than the fix itself.
Someone please respond that would have some legitimate insight as to alternative fix here.

If you still have the OEM Mazda battery in your car, that is most likely where the problem lies. For some reason, the Mazda batteries do not like to last in the 6. Take the battery and have a load test done. It will let you know what condition the battery is in. All of the symptoms you have listed, sounds like a bad battery.
