Hey everyone!
i wanna replace ALL the bulbs in the headlight casing of my '05 6 (w/sport pckg) with BRIGHTER ones. I already bought LED's to replace the parking lights and silver bulbs to replace the orange blinkers... anyone have any suggestions as to what kind of replacement bulbs i should get for the headlights & fog lights? i want 'em to be brighter & whiter but i don't want them to be that annoying blue-ish color you see when people try to imitate HID's!!!! i kinda want them all to match....any info would be totally appreciated!!!

Silverstars. I put them in my mustang right after I got it, and they made a difference. So much more visibility. And when I put them in I left one regular light in and one silverstar, pulled to the white garage door and turned them on. Man, the regular light looks so freaking yellow compared to the silverstars. I put both headlights and foglights as silverstars. You're looking at about 20 each for the foglights, but they sell the headlights in pair packs now, so you can get them for a couple bucks cheaper. Just food for your thoughts.

 

thanks man....i saw those the other day and i was gonna buy them but i wanted to check back here first to see if anyone responded! thanks for the info!!!! i'm definetly gonna buy the Silverstars it just sucks that i can't really replace them myself...i guess i could but i don't wanna go thru the hassle of taking off the whole damn bumper, ya know? again, thanks for the info bro....

You don't have to take he bumper off to change your headlights, anyways I had silverstars for about 4 months and I just switched to HIDs since my silverstars burnt out. If you want to spend the money, go with a set of Apexcone 50 watt HIDs, well worth it!

 

Why do you need to take the bumper off? All of the blubs for the headlights are accessible through the engine compartment. If you have lower fog-lights (in the bumper) you can get to them by dropping just the thin plastic shields that close up the bottom of the bumper.

 

They're right, you shouldn't have to take off the bumper to get to the headlights. Just open the hood. You may have to take out the airbox or whatever's in the way (i haven't looked yet) but there should be no reason to take the bumper off. As for the fogs, You should just have to crawl a little and maybe take off the splashguard under the bumper. Should be no harder than that though.

i've heard that around the forum & even the manual says that the only bulbs that are user serviceable are the blinkers!!!! but if you guys have personal experience with it then i'll give it a try!

HAHA yea i have this same issue. its pissin me off.
mazda expects u to change headlight bulbs AT THE DEALER.
if i look at the lighting arrangement. the headlight bulbs ARe hard to reach.... but damn. [:@]

i still hav some silverstars sittin in my garage.
