Default Fair Price for Extended Warranty

Greetings –
I am in the process of purchasing a new Mazda 6 and need some input on what a fair price is for a 7-year 100k extended warranty. I cannot find a resource with information on this subject with specific costs.
Thanks for the help!

In 2003, I paid ~$800 for one. I can't remember the details, but I bought it through the dealer where I got the car and it was regarded as a good one. Maybe because it was offered by Mazda rather than a 3rd party? I put a lot of miles on my car so I was glad to have it.

Ummmm...I'd say that "$0" is a fair price, considering that's what you get for your money. Back in '94, we bought a '92 Miata with ~35k miles on it. Got talked into the Mazda extended warranty from the Mazda dealer that we bought the car from. Well, three things happened to this car from '95 to '98: a plug wire went bad, exhaust heatshield came askew, and the alternator crapped out. The extended warranty covered NONE of this. The extended warranty was money thrown away, mate. It's true that a decade has since passed, but the foul taste in my mouth remains.
