I'm new to this forum and been researching for several hours for a resolution. My problem is that I recently purchased a used 07 mazda 6 S GT. It came with no fog lights and dealer doesn't carrying them anymore in my part of the world. So I bought some from our friendly neighborhood online store "ebay" and I installed the factory fog lights on the car.
Everything works however, my high beams will not turn off unless I switch the fog light switch off. Then I will have to turn fog lights back on. I bought light switch assembly w/ fog from advance auto. My car originally did not have a fog light switch. Now my question is, aren't the fog lights suppose to turn off automatically when I flip the switch to high beams and automatically turn on when I flip the switch back off? This while fog lights are in on position.

any help in this matter is greatly appreciated.

 

Foglights will work independently of the highbeam. They only need trigger power from the parklights. Regarding highbeam not turning off, sounds like you might have a dodgy switch/stalk.
