Excessive oil consumption?
I just wanted to share this with everyone that has a m6s.
I have a 2003 m6s wich was using alot of oil to make a very long story short, i eventually ended up spining a bearing from oil starvation. I found out that it was because of my pcv valve was bad and because it was bad it was letting oil get thru to the air intake manifold and out the pipes. yup it was drinking it's own blood.
So from a fellow m6s owner to another i suggest you guys keep an eye on your oil, if it starts disapearing i'd go strait to the pcv valve and replace it. The pcv valve only cost about $15.00 and because of that $15.00 part i'm looking at spending between $3200.00 and $4000.00 to replace the motor. Funny huh?

RE: Excessive oil consumption?
Definitely not funny, but it does bring up a good point......If oil was getting to your pipes, you should have seen blue smoke. Are you saying your car didn't exhibit any problems at all prior to blowing the motor? How often did you change your oil or monitor the level? If you knew your car consumed oil, you should check the level even more often (and carry a quart of oil with you.) I've owned plenty of POS old cars that you would have thought they were 2-stroke with the oil/fuel I burned, but so long as you feed them and keep them lubed, even leaking they'll keep running if you need them to.
Word to the wise....if your car is consuming oil at an excessive rate (anything more than a quart within an oil change period) you need to figure out where that oil is going immediately. It's either dripping out or burning up.
