Default Engine dying- mazda 6/atenza

Hi all
We recently purchased a used imported mazda atenza(6) 4wd auto wagon. Is fully optioned with all the bells and whistles with only 100k on the clock. After only owing for one day, driving at around 50km/h, the engine died, but easily started and we were off again. Went for another 80km drive today with out any issues. Has any one else experienced this phantom engine cut?
Cheers, Paul

It's a 2005 2.3. Has a credit card sized remote with a key that slides out of the corner. Also came with a cap to fit over the ignition barrel so you can start it with out the key.
Engine dying has happened twice now, with the second at low speed while turning into a car park.
But very random.

I had a 2006 2.3 Atenza sports wagon, same remote setup.

I would take it to Mazda for a code check. Their diagnostic tester read alot more codes than aftermarket testers can & provides more info & data for fault codes.

Maybe buying a diagnostic tool is a good choice. Here I want to recommend you VXDIAG VCX NANO from China WOBD2 website.

VXDIAG VCX Nano Function:
1. Programming & Installation of new ECUs (PCM, ABS, Instrument Cluster, Air Bag, Fuel Pumps, etc.)
2. Live Data-stream with Recording & Playback Functions for Main ECUs
3. Read & Clear Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs)
4. Set, Adjust or Remove Speed Governors
5. Automatic vehicle recognition
6. New Software Re-flash for Existing ECUs
7. All Other Dealer Functions
8. Steering Angle Resets
9. Guided Fault Finding
10. Program New Keys
11. DPF Regeneration
12. Brake Bleeding
13. Injector Coding

Although it's a bit late now, took it back to the car dealer we brought it off. They said they had the throttle body cleaned but I suspect they meant the air flow meter. Has not cut out since.
