Default 2.3l engine knock

Hi all again.
My 2005 2.3l atenza wagon has now developed a knocking noise under acceleration. My first throughts are that I've run a bottom end bearing (worse case scenario) but I have seen on YouTube that some plastic intake manifolds have butterflies that can come loose and flap freely.
It's not a loud knock and oil levels are good. are there any common faults that have the same noise?
Would appreciate any help.

Im now thinking it might be detonating or "pinging"?

Get a code check for knock sensor & the intake manifold flaps.
Does it only make the noise when under load?
Get the ignition & fuel system checked. What fuel are you using ?

Have it booked in tomorrow to plugin fault reader so I guess that will tell me what it isn't. I was only hopeful it would be detonation as we have been using 91 octane. The knock can be hear ever so slightly at idle which isn't good. So gutted, only a month after warranty expired.
