The ECU is probably getting used to it and running leaner to compensate. That's the thing with newer cars, the ECU thinks that the mod is a problem ,and undoes it's effect.

 

That damm ECU can kiss my *** if that happens to be the problem... i should have gotten a 93 instead of a 03, lol

 

yeah, buy an old TII as a weekend car for fun, you'll love it. haha An ECU can be set straight with one of those programming performance chips (the $300 ones you hook up and adjust timing and fuel management and such)

 

Or you can try cleaning the filter, thats a thought

I have had my AEM CAI for almost a year and have absolutly ZERO problems with it, no CELs or anything of the sort. I plan to clean the Dryflow Filter this summer for the first time because the manufacture recomends cleaning every 10,000-30,000 miles depending on your local enviroment. But depending on the filter you have it may need more maintenence than that.

 

Holy necro-thread batman! lol Been no problems with my Mazdaspeed CAI either and I've had it on for about 2 years now.
