2020 Mazda6 USB Port Intermittent
Hey everybody,
First time poster here. My new Mazda6 is doing something really strange; the USB port in the center console for phones (Apple Carplay and Android Auto) will occasionally stop working. It won't work for any phone or cord (the one below it will though, just doesn't connect to the infotainment). Nothing seems to fix it other than turning the car off completely for a minute and then turning it back on — works just fine.
For extra information, I'm using a OnePlus 8T (capable of 65W charging), and a stock USB to Type C cable. When the issue happens, I have tried using a totally functioning iPhone as well as another Samsung Galaxy Note 9, and the one port just won't work. Any suggestions/ideas for what it might be?
The car is still under warranty, but because it's an infrequent thing I want to try to figure out the cause of it and also try to have some proof of it happening. Thanks!
