So I am very new to cars but used to work on big trucks all the time. So I just bought a mazda 6 2016 and want to increase the horsepower of this tiny car. It is kinda fast already but i want to keep up with a v6 or better yet a v8 mustang. So what I understand that I can do is get a cold air intake and a catback exhaust by magnaflow. But I have done some research and I can't do much else, at least that is what I know so far. I don't know much about turbos but someone told me I could get one of those as well. But they never told me what kinda of tubro so I guess I need help with that.

 

The odds of keeping up with a V8 Mustang lie somewhere between zero and none; even a late model V6 is very highly unlikely, even with every bolt on mods you can come up with short of a turbocharger.

As for turbocharging the 2.5 liter engine in your car, high compression engines like yours do not lend themselves to turbocharging.

I'm thinking by far your best bet would be to simply sell your current car and buy, say, a 2018 Mazda6 GT, GT Reserve, or Signature model (which is already turbocharged by Mazda right from the factory).
