2016 Lower Leather Seat Replacement? Hard?
My son owns a 2016 M6 with sand Leather seats. He and a friend were moving some furniture and got some sort of glue on their pants. When they sat on the car seats the glue adhered to the seats and really did a number on the bottom cover (the backs and headrests are fine).
I see that the leather covers can be ordered as a replacement part from a dealer and the price is not insane (though any guidance on lower prices would be greatly appreciated). My main question is, do we need a dealer to replace these (thus adding HEAVILY to the cost) or is this something we can likely do without too much hassle? We're both hands-on types, but if it's really involved then we'd likely want to pass on this being a DIY project.
Any videos out there?
Thanks

You need to remove the seat from the vehicle.
Remove the plastic side trims from both sides.
Remove all the wiring.
unbolt the seat back from the base.
Remove the base cushion from the steel base.
Undo all the hog rings, and separate the leather from the foam pad/cushion.
