Icon goes on while driving, garaged during the night, at a red light. My mechanic says the passenger door switch/latch assembly needs to be changed. Even though all doors and trunk is latched, the icon at times goes on. So, checking on the repair cost upwards if $300., I decided to forgo it. My opinion is to spend more that $300 dollars for essentially a switch is ridiculous. Is there any problem if just the door ajar icon stays on? I have to dome light turned off and had taken the bulbs out of the front doors courtesy light so there will be no draw on the battery. My mistake, it's a 2010 not 2009.

 

You won't be able to lock the car via the remote as It thinks the door is still open. Apart from that no issues.

 

Thanks grim_reaper. If that's all what will happen then I see no big deal. My concern was possibly some battery drain as I have been getting conflicting postings.
