Dome light issues
[:@]I found and replaced the relay which turns the dome lights on and off as the door is opened. Now the light goes out when the truck is running and the driver door is opened or closed as it should.
The passenger door does nothing. I removed the door panel again and removed the passenger door switch. It seems to be working correctly. If I unplug the switch the light is still on and if I get it out I can't get the light to go on with the switch unplugged. I tried to jump it with the light on and the light off. No effect either way. It's like that part of the wiring is dead or shorted out?
Also when the truck is running and moving the dome light goes out. Then since I replaced the relay the driver's door opening turns the light on and closing the door turns the light off as it should, BUT not when the car isn't running. If I open the door with the truck off or in ACC position, the light goes on but only goes out after 50 minutes.
Any ideas???
Thanks!

There are also door switches in the lower latches of both rear doors that are wired in series with the right front door switch. If one of the rear door switches were stuck closed then the right front door switch would not make any change. Dome light would remain on in other words. Not quite following exactly what the dome light is still doing but hope that helps.
I don't think there are any screw to remove. The panel should just pull off. You will probably need to remove the seat belt anchor points as they will not allow enough room to get the panel off.
I took both door panels off, they pull right off as you said with the seat belt anchor removed. The insides of the doors were super dusty and dirty. I cleaned them out and couldn't reach the switch. My hands are too large to fit in there to get it so... I disconnected the switch on both sides and blocked off the wires. Now both doors activate the dome light as they should and the light goes right out when the door closes. I couldn't imagine why those rear doors need a switch since it would be obvious if they are open or closed and can only be opened if the front doors are opened. Anyway that's a good end to the dome light nightmare! Thanks!!
