Default 08 Mazda6 2.3-only 53k miles-mildly rough idle?

Hi all. Is the 2.3 supposed to be a little buzzy? No CELs, and it drives perfectly fine. Only thing I am wondering about is a mildly rough idle. It is not severe, but you can feel it through the steering wheel.

I am going to replace the air filter, but I figured Id ask before cleaning out the TB and MAF sensor.

Have you checked your engine mounts? A worn engine mount can translate engine vibration thru to the chassis.

I thought about it, but with only 53k miles? I did have a 2009 3 with 160k miles with shot motor mounts that made the car sound like it had an exhaust leak.

The car is over 10yrs old, well & truly could be degraded & worn out by now.

Agree; check motor mounts. If that, and air filter, and other simple checks or replacements don’t do it, you could check valve clearance (aka lash). The 2.3 MZR in our ‘06 Mazda 5 had manually-adjusted valves, so I assume that’s the case in yours. Probably not the issue, but a thing to check.

Ok will do. TY. I guess the general consensus is these 2.3s should be smooth enough to not feel anything through the steering wheel.
