I have a 2007 Mazda 6 V6, 5 speed. About a month ago i smelled burning rubber under the hood. i took off the engine cover and could see my belt on the very bottom pulley was rubbing because the pulley was shaking and obviously out of alignment. I took it to Mazda and they replaced the pulley, and belt. They told me it was the harmonic balancer pulley...not sure if that is right or not. Now I am on a road trip and i can smell rubber under the hood again....has anyone else had this problem, or know how bad it would be if I actually snapped the belt by continuing my trip. Any info is greatly appreciated.
