Default Warranty about to expire, any checks I should do (like rear shocks)?

I read a lot of posts from people sayingn their rear shocks have gone. Is there a way to check them? I've only got a week and a half left on my three year warranty - are there any other things worth checking?

Well as you said, the OE rear shocks do seem to be an issue with the 5 series in particular. Good call on that one, I'd say.
You could pull the rear wheels and look for fluid running down the sides of the shocks. Or if you want to go a little further, remove them to see if they are still funtioning, have pressure, etc.
There is a through bolt on the lower rear suspension and two captured studs w/nuts up top. Loosen the bolt/nut on the bottom but do not remove it. Then undo the top nuts, compress the shock and pull it out toward you. Then remove the lower bolt.
Reassemble in reverse order, of course.
They're really not hard to do.
As for the rest, no, probably not. These cars are fairly trouble free.

I would get everything checked out on the car before your warranty expires (and tell them). Front end steering, engine inspection for leaks, and total suspension.
