Default Tire size and rims

Have a 2013 Mazda five just put 18 inch rims with 225/45/18 size tires.
they rub when I make turns and they will rub if I hit a pothole . Should I go smaller size wheel or smaller size tire what will work

Assuming your wheels have the correct offset (45mm to 50mm), you should be running 215/45 R18 tires. The tires you're running are both slightly wider and slightly larger in diameter. If the offset on your wheels is incorrect, then all bets are off.

The stock tire size for your car is 205/50 R17; you can also run 225/45 R17s for a little extra width.

Either 17"x6.5' or 17"x7" I'm not 100% sure.

You need a offset of 45 to 55.

Factory BL rims range from 48 to 52.5 offset

There's a calculator out there for resizing.

Tirerack does too.
