I bought a Mazda 5 sport diesel about a month ago and am experiencing stiff gears, particularly second gear and it's worse when cold. What are everyone elses gears like in their Mazda 5?

 

If it's brand new, expect it to be stiff for a little while. And I don't suggest driving a diesel while it's cold anyway, it's terrible for diesel engines, hence why us truck drivers don't do it .
The gears/clutch will eventually get used to the way you drive and you don't experience it anymore. Takes a little while.

 

thanks for replying, it's a 59 plate, but as I've not got anything to compare it to, I just wondered if it was normal for a mazda 5. I am gradually getting used to it now, thanks.

 

Put some synthetic oil in the transmission!?
