Well, Good news is that this is usually very easy, bad news is it wont be for you.

To do it yourself you need two working keys (possibly the originals, but not totally sure about this). In your case you'll most likely need to go to the dealer.

*IF* you had the two originals, getting a third key is a piece of cake.

I have done this myself, and have a third spare key at a total cost of about $30

Step 1: Buy a blank unprogrammed key online (ebay is the best place)
mazda 5 key fob | eBay

Step 2: Take key to locksmith to cut it for you

Step 3: Program it yourself. Programming is easy. Get in the car, take original key #1, put it in the car, turn to "on" position (but do not start car). Take key out. Put in original key #2, turn to "on" position, and take out key. Take new key, put it in and turn to on position. Wait a few moments, and take it out. Now the new key will work. Try starting the car, should work perfectly.
