Mazda 5 oil pump failue
My 3 year old Mazda 5 developed a high pitched sound. After a LOT o finvestigation by my local garage it was discovered to be the oil pump in the bottom of the engine. The teeth on the cog were breaking off. So far the dealership where i purchased the car, Mazda UK in Dartford and now senior management in Mazda UK have failed to take any responsibility for this major component failure. I was told the 3-year warranty had run out the previous month, the good will arrangement was void because i had not taken the car to a Mazda dealership (the dealership had closed down and the next nearest was too far away) The bill is likely to be well over £1000. Has anyone else had similar problems? Any advice?
Good luck. I got nowhere with Mazda aand had to pay £1100.My local garage did not charge me for all of the time they spent on this. I have also had 4 tyres at £400 because of uneven tyre wear. I have replaced 3 shocks and it feels like they are going again! I have below average mileage and only drive on A and B class roads. I will never buy Mazda again.
