Default iPod AUX Adapter Installatrion Issues

Hi,

2008 Mazda 5

I bought an adapter for iPod that plugs into SAT connector on back of radio (I do not have any current SAT functions). System is completely unresponsive to pressing the SAT button (which should be the new iPod input). Does it need to somehow be activated ? I followed the adapter manufacturers instructions ... and well, I've ended up here.

I tried disconnecting battery for a while which some threads have said restores all radio functions but it did not help.

Any help would be appreciated.

Not sure on the 5. On the 6 it is not possible to connect in that way. I had to buy the XCar Link, which connects to the back of the chassis, not with RCA plugs either.
You might try contacting the manufacturer of your adaper for further guidance.

Most of the aftermarket ipod modules (the OEM too now that I think of it) emulate an external CD changer, not satellite radio. The same port on the back of the HU can be used for either (though come to think of it I've never seen an external changer for these cars.... whatever).

Try pushing the CD button twice and see if that works.
