Does anybody know how to unlock the trip computer on the Mazda5.

Apparently it is possible to do it on the Mazda3, just by holding the CD + AM/FM buttons at same time for a few seconds while starting the engine.

Ifanybody has found a way to it on the 5, please share !!!

i think there is a post all ready on here some where you can set a few things press and hold the 2 buttons on your dials then start your car press the right button to change to next item .i did this to set up the fuel/remaining miles in tank.hope this helps

 

Yeah, that's to test the instrument cluster and adjust a few things like remainining fuel, etc...

What I am really looking for is the trip computer to get things like thecurrent fuel consumption, average fuel consumption, hours travelled, etc....

Do you have the "info" button to the left of the dash? If not then you won't have access to any of the trip info (which is highly inaccurate anyway and not worth looking at)

so can we really change the setting for remaining fuel reading? How do you do this?

There's another one too if you trawl through the threads. I do intend to have a go, as I know my computer is inaccurate, it's about 20% optimistic on fuel consumption!
