CD just stopped working half way through a song.
Hi all
We have a 2008 Mazda 5 MPV Sport with a factory 6 disc in dash CD/mp3 player fitted.
A few days ago it was playing a CD then just stopped, displayed NO DISC and it will not eject, load, play or do anything at all.
The rest of the unit works fine it is just the CD section that won't do anything.
I have removed the fuse for half hour = No change
Removed the unit and cleaned with compressed air = No change
Dismantled the unit, removed all the CDs and set it ready to accept discs = No change
Nothing appears to be wrong with the mechanism.
Has anybody come across this before?
I am thinking it may be a power issue to the CD section as it will not do anything at all.

Hi
It's not easy, you have to completely dismantle the mechanism to remove all the CDs.
There is no easy "secret button or process" to do it for you, ignore what you read on the internet as it relates to different mechanisms.
I was able to locate a brand new complete unit for £25 so I was very lucky.
My mechanism was fine after testing it, it was the circuit board that was faulty.
