Default 1st service

Had the first service done today at 12600 miles. They updated the ECU software and the slight hesitation it had seems to have gone. I mentioned a knock from the back and there's a shock absorber that needs replacing, so they're doing that under warranty next week. The big surprise was the price, they didn't do the valve clearances, so it only cost £155 inc VAT.

I'll query the valve clearances next week, maybe Mazda have decided they don't need doing.

Was told that there was an ECU update.

Ours had the valve clearances done even though it had only done 7000 miles.

Cost twice what you paid !!!

I rang one dealer who thought they didnt need doing but they didnt fill me with confidence as when they checked again they realised they did !

The other 3 main dealers I rang all said they did need doing as per the service schedule.
