I have an `06 3 with the 2.0 and I am having an occasional problemstarting the carafterI fill up with gas. I can only get the car restarted by stepping on the gas pedal. Otherwise it just turns over and over. Any ideas on whats happening???

 

I also have an 06 Mazda 3 2.0 that had the same problem, wouldn't start after fill up, had to hold peddle to the floor to get it started.I took it to the dealer and they found it to be a faulty PURGE VALVE. If your purge valve is faultylike mine was it will be hard to start and will run rich causing bad idle and black smoke. Fault code was P0443.

 

The dealer also recommed that I change the plugs. Good Luck

 

The car is actually running lean. I have gotten codes P0455 and P0171.

 

i have the same problem on a 03 ,runs rough and shakey after the fill up .Fuel filter? and where is the fuel filter anyway.daughters car ..
