When I googled Mazda fuel filter I got a picture online of the plastic bottom of what looks to be a pump on the back side of the engine. Guess accessible after removing the cover on the bottom beneath the engine.

Do any of these require service at the "fuel filter" specified interval?

Pretty sure there is no filter on your Gen 3 Mazda3.

 

I can't imagine Mazda Japan would build a Mazda 3 with a fuel filter, and then Mazda USA remove the filter & replace it with something else to hold the fuel pump in place within the fuel tank.

 

Surprising though it may be, that apparently is the case; said another way, Mazda3s sold in the U.S. and Canada do not have fuel filters.

Nope, as I understand it, no fuel filter at all.
