Default Water Problems, 2007 Mazda 3

After a rain last night, the floorboards of the 2007 Mazda 3 were soaked with water, all passenger sides. I mean soaked. I used every towel to mop out water with and ran out of towels. There's a little bit of water in the trunk and the tools are standing in water but it's nothing compared to the inches of water in the cabin. None of the seats were wet, door not wet, ceiling not wet so I've ruled out possibility of leaving window open in rainstorm or a single door seal being faulty. Too much water for A/C condenser alone to be responsible. New condensation inside of right rear taillight. There is a moonroof, no visible leaks around it. Under the seats where the blower is, I cannot get all water out, I ran out of towels and still at least 1/2 inch of water. It didn't rain so much to think that it's just a matter of coming in a tiny little section. What's up with this?

I will call dealer tomorrow, car has 66K miles. I see lots of posts with water issues in the Mazda 3, no real solutions.

Does your car have a retractable moonroof?

Default Yes.

Retractable Moonroof, not leaking around moonroof itself, is it possible the ducts are plugged?

I'd lay odds that's your problem.

What ducts are you referring to?

The moonroof rail drains.

there are drains, usually in each corner of the sunroof track. Though I doubt you'd get inches in the car from this... A hose could be cracked too instead of plugged - like someone drove a clip into the side of it while installing the interior.

I suspect a bad seal, like the trunk, window, doors, maybe under the front cowl at the bottom of the windshield. That cowl has a drain too, though I doubt it would be routed into the cabin.
