Hi Friends

I have a brand new 2008.5 Mazda3 sport, GX. I love it.

The one problem I have is that the low-end volume of my music changes with my speed(s). The music mentioned is coming out of my iPod and into my deck via the factory iPod connector.

Furthermore, I can fix the low-end boost by changing the volume to any new value.

Has anyone else had this problem? I'd love some feedback...

I have to agree with my learned "electronics" colleague here.
Unfortunately, this is the emoticon that states what needs to be said, though rather harshly. [sm=icon_rtfm.gif]I apologize for that, and please don"t take it personally. They all seem to include the "F" in there for some reason.

 

Actually reading the manual about the ALC features describes my problem precisely, but I'm using my iPod.

I have ALC set to 1. As far as I know that's the nominal setting...

Actually, "zero" is an option.
I don"t use an iPod, but occassionally play CD's and at first I felt that an ALC setting of 1 was just right. But the more I use it, especially with the windows mostly up, the more I think zero is the perfect setting.
Justa suggestion.....

 

Ah-HA!! The "08-"08.5 HU problem.
I have not personally experienced this, but you are not alone. Yes, many seem to complain that when the volume is up, the sound degrades.... badly. Loss of bass seems to be the common complaint.
Take it to your dealer and complain. If I am not mistaken, they will replace the HU with a newer, supposedly betterversion.

No it"s not as simple as that. From what I have read about this problem, owners with the 08-08.5 std system (some, not all) have a problem with bass drop-out and some with distortion whenthe volume control is near/over 35.
Does that soundabout right, David?
