Squeaky Seatbelt Buckle info
Hello everyone -
Not sure if it was mentioned before but - I just thought I'd put this info out there
I've had both of my seat belt buckles replaced by my local Mazda dealership because I could hear them squeaking. I drive a 2006 Mazda3 S that has about 49k on it now. About 10k - 20k miles ago I started to really get annoyed with the squeaks coming from my buckle every time I hit a bump or moved in my seat. I took the car in for some service, mentioned the problem and after the Service Manager checked into it, it turns out that Mazda knows about the problem and will replace these buckles under warranty due to the whole squeaking issue.
I didn't realize the passenger seat squeaked until recently when I started carrying people in my car - It makes sense that the passenger buckle would be of the same design and squeak just like the driver buckle - the 3 is going in tomorrow to get that buckle replaced. Since I have had the buckle replaced, there have been absolutely no squeaks.
If your car is still under warranty and they're making noise - there should be no hesitation from Mazda to replace the squeaky buckles.
Me: 1 Squeaks/Rattles: 0

RE: Squeaky Seatbelt Buckle info
Well, now... ain"t that interesting?
I have an "04 and no issues like that, but it"s good to know. I might"ve tried a little dry silicone spray in there to see if that solved the issue. And w/44k miles on my clock now, I doubt they would cover an issue like that one.
