Unhappy Side view mirror replaceds

My daughter took off the passenger SVM for the second time. I wanted to know how hard is it to replace myself. Is it any easy replacement?

Quite! The sail panel pops off. The mirror held on w/3 phillips head screws and a power connector, if you have power mirrors that is?
Now, about your daughter.... ?

Step 1: Train daughter not to abuse car

Step 2: replace mirror

Is it the entire housing that's broken (i.e. the black plastic part), the painted cover, the glass, or some combination of the three?

To replace the glass (on a power mirror anyway) you just need to pop the glass loose from the two motor mount ball joints, and the large center ball joint.... a matter of a minute or two of careful prying. To replace the housing, as Richard said, pop off the sail panel, remove three bolts (and unplug harness if applicable) and the whole housing comes off.

Where are you located? If you're somewhere heated mirrors aren't included this could be a great time to upgrade to them. A whole heated housing for direct replacement is ~$100, or you can retrofit the wiring into the housing (if it's not broken) for about $50. I suppose it really depends on what's actually damaged.

Oh women drivers. I don't know why my insurance is higher. Just last week i got into an accident because a woman driver didn't look both ways and pulled out in front of me. I haven't had my car for a week, and i've been driving a nissan cube with a 1.8 liter engine. NO TORQUE!!!!! I popped my side mirror off just for the hell of it. Not bad at all.

Yea u cant find a pre-painted mirror anywhere, you have to get it painted by a dealer or shop.
