What ho one and all,

I recently purchased a 2015 Mazda 3 g3, BM. I intend to install a reversing camera, and although there are any number of q&a on various forums, I am still a little confused.

The dealer tells me he is 99% certain the wiring is factory installed and the Infotainment screen will display the image. So theoretically, all good to go!

First, most of the on-line cameras come with a number plate light. Does that get removed or does it usually replace the existing light? Does this replacement usually provide a nighttime UV image?

Secondly, and more importantly, it seems there are both 6v and 12v units available. I assume the reversing light is 12v but is that OK for the display? Is the display 6 or 12?

If the display is 6v and the reversing light 12v, what exactly is needed to reduce the voltage?
