Default Reflections

What ho one and all,

Taken delivery of a 2015 Mazda 3 last week with a mere 44k on the clock. Very good condition and full service record, so seems like a good deal.
Happy with the way it drives after 20 years of my Ford Mondeo diesel, so one way and another very happy. But.....
The top of the dashboard is annoyingly, reflecting into the windscreen, and in a similar vein, the silver surround to the 'mirror' vent is giving a silver reflection in the OS window.
I imagine the dealer's pre-sale detailer used some vinyl cleaner and that has made the surface somewhat semi-glossy. I don't want to use any kind of dash cover and wonder if there is a spray (or something) to reduce the semi-gloss surface?
As for the silver vent surround, how does that unclip? I would give that a black spray of even a black vinyl wrap?

Thanks

Rekusu

Welcome to the forum

Sorry but the reality is getting a carpeted dash cover or a great pair of quality sunglasses.

Thanks for your reply. I used to use polarized sunglasses because it is easier to see the road, but since I now have frame-less spectacles and these days, they are all plastic lenses, the clip-ons over time, scratch the lens, so no more.

I do have some black velvet in a 'rag bag' so will cut a square to place over the reflection area.

Given how careful the Japanese are to ensure the design hits all the high point, don't know how this was not addressed. But what do I know?

many platforms have dash glare.

If it is esthetic's, you can always toss it in the back when you are parked so no one sees it? I should also mention that the DASK Mat black carpet will reduce the heat in the car and make your AC more effect. It will also protect the dash form varies wears.

I live in the south of England and with the exception of some hottish summers, generally, it is not like parking under the desert sun.

. UV rays(*no exact effect has ever been tested and empirically documented) I have observed physically of decades and from various places and countries posted on many forums have an effect on dash and other interior materials.

*that I am aware of
